What is Holistic Pet Care?

Holistic pet care is an integrative approach that addresses the entire animal, not just the symptoms of illness. It considers the pet’s environment, diet, exercise, mental and emotional state, and social needs.

It aims to promote a healthy balance in the pet’s life by addressing the root causes of health issues.

What are the differences between holistic and conventional veterinary care?

Conventional vets: focus on treating specific ailments with medications and procedures.

Holistic vets: take a broader approach, looking at the whole animal and using natural therapies to support overall well-being.

Holistic care often involves lifestyle adjustments, dietary changes, and natural supplements.

What types of conditions can be treated with holistic methods?

Holistic methods can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including allergies, digestive issues, arthritis, anxiety, stress, and chronic illnesses like diabetes and Cushing’s disease.

They can also be used as supportive care for pets undergoing conventional treatments, such as cancer treatment.

Are there any risks or side effects associated with holistic care?

Holistic therapies are generally considered safe and effective.

Potential side effects may include a temporary detoxification reaction or a reaction to a specific product.

How does diet impact a pet's health from a holistic perspective?

Diet is a crucial part of holistic pet care, as it can affect a pet’s immune system, energy levels, and overall health.

Holistic veterinarians often recommend a balanced diet based on the pet’s individual needs, considering factors like age, breed, and health condition.

Do you recommend vaccines?

We recommend vaccine alternatives for building immunity safely. However, some customers prefer to vaccinate, in those cases we work with clients on proper vaccine dosing, and a proper vaccine schedule to eliminate over vaccination.

Can you explain your approach to preventative care in holistic pet medicine?

Nutrition is the foundation of optimal health. This includes regular check-ups, maintaining a balanced diet, and using therapies like acupuncture and chiropractic to prevent problems before they arise. We aim to keep your pet in optimal health by maintaining a strong immune system and promoting overall wellness.
